In 1779, Daniel Burnap arrived in Norwich to improve his skills in clockmaking under the direction of Thomas Harland. During this time Burnap wrote a memorandum book documenting the processes of clockmaking, including the recipes of solvents and solutions for clockmaking. In this memorandum book, Burnap documents Harland’s recipe for blacking wax, and the process of applying it.

This blacking wax was made using Burnap’s original recipe.

Each order comes with 12 grams of wax.
